oh, i’ve read some of those books. looks like a good haul? :)

Definitely - the problem is deciding what to read first. Maybe The Body of Christopher Creed, since it’s the first one I pulled off the shelf.

I need to be more attentive when going to the library …

I go in for one book, and I come out with five. Right now I’ve got:

Memoirs of a Geisha
Life of Pi
Phantom of the Opera
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan
and The Body of Christopher Creed

I read A Clockwork Orange and The Bride’s Farewell yesterday. Actually, I wasn’t in there to check out books at all - I just wanted to turn in those two. And you see what happens. And I’m not even done with The Girl Who Played with Fire yet.

I’m horrible.

“who are you
a kaleidoscope of all the girls you used to be
(a fairy queen gone supernova).
face of smoke and
bones of salvaged metal”
— from my poem “rooftop waltzer.” Find it here.

I just found out David Tennant starred in an adaption of Hamlet. MUST. WATCH.

“I would rather think in colors than numbers,
tangerine sonatas and ballads of cornflower blue.
And I would waste every second of every
everlasting hour, if they were wasted with you.”
— from my poem “If We Were Wishing, Now.” Found here.

“Our embrace lasted too long.
We loved right down to the bone.
I hear the bones grind, I see
our two skeletons.”
— Anna Świrszczyńska, from ‘I’ll Open the Window,’ trans. Milosz and Nathan (via asymptotejournal)

“Even when I’m dead, I’ll swim through the Earth
like a mermaid of the soil, just to be next to your bones.”
— Jeffrey McDaniel, from “The Archipelago of Kisses” (with thanks to passade and fleurishes)

Time Lord “Mary Poppins” in Google Maps in Cardiff(!?!)
fireflyastoria:

So I was fiddling between Google and MapCrunch and do you know what I found?
Do you know who that is? Yep, that’s Mary Poppins.
Do you know where that is? Yep, that’s Cardiff. Specifically, that’s outside the Roald Dahl Plass.
Do you know what the Roald Dahl Plass is? Yep, the roof of Torchwood.
Do you know why Torchwood is there? Yep, that’s because of the rift in Cardiff, specifically that rift for a specific reason.
Do you know where the Doctor re-fuels the TARDIS?
So tumblr was right.
Mary Poppins IS the Doctor.

But does she know how to get to the airport?
